Responding to the directive of Chief Electoral Officer K Ravikumar,the Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner has to probe into an allegation that ruling JMM MLA Dashrath Gagrai used a fake identity during the elections.


The Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh has started enquiring about authenticity of the complaint had been lodged by one Lalji Ram Tiu, questioning the identity of Mr. Gagrai.

In fact, a formal complaint was lodged by one Lalji Ram Tiu, questioning the identity of Mr. Gagrai, the three-term Kharsawan MLA.

Gargai has reiterated that the charge was baseless, claiming that the “complainant has the habit of making such allegations against those in power.”

Enclosing the complaint of Lalji Ram Tiu, CEO K.Ravikumar forwarded it with an affidavit his to the Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh to look into it.

As per the rule, any complaint raising controversies involving MLAs, after the elections are over and the results are declared, will have to be addressed by the state governor concerned, while those involving MPs will have to be dealt with by the President.

The complaint of Lalji Ram Tiu had initially filed complaint after the Assembly polls were declared on July 28, questioning the very identity of the sitting JMM MLA.
