National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, hosted an insightful lecture by Dr. Aman Hingorani, a distinguished Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India, who addressed students on two significant themes.
1. Kashmir issue from a legal and historical perspective and;
2. Career development in the field of law.
Invited specially for the session, Dr. Hingorani travelled from Delhi to interact with students and faculty members.
During a discussion with the university’s faculty, he talked about the current challenges in legal education, emerging technologies, and strategies for the future to bridge the gap between law school and practice.
The event also graced by Assistant Registrar Dr. Jisu Ketan Pattanaik and Dean,Dr. Shyamala K formally began with Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil, Vice-Chancellor, NUSRL, felicitating Dr. Hingorani.
During his lecture, Dr. Hingorani provided a detailed explanation of the Kashmir conflict, tracing its constitutional, international, and historical dimensions.
He discussed how the issue evolved over time and the strategic role played by global powers, particularly the British, in shaping its trajectory.
He also highlighted the political, economic, and social implications of the matter. Responding to students’ queries, he highlighted that “it is essential to look at complex national issues through a legal lens.”
In the second part of the session, Dr. Hingorani shared career guidance and practical tips for budding lawyers. He underlined the importance of legal drafting, saying that “a good lawyer must learn to draft well, as drafting determines the strategy of your case.”
He encouraged students to remain focused, identify their areas of interest early, and pursue them with clarity and dedication.
Concluding the session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil expressed gratitude to Dr. Hingorani, noting that such expert interactions help students gain deeper legal insights and inspire them to shape their careers with purpose and direction.
