Amid the sunny day,thousands of devotees moved around to pull the ecorated chariot of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra during Rath Yatra celebrations in Ranchi on Wednesday.

The yatra passed off peacefully without any major incident of violence and law and order problem.

In fact,the annual journey of the deities to ‘Mausibadi’ – their maternal aunt’s house situated less than a km away from the Jagannathpur temple in Dhurwa was the main attraction of the 10-day festival which began on July 6,2016.

Prominent persons who pulled the chariot were Ex Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Acting President Hemant Soren,Ex Union Minister and Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay,BJP leader and Chairman of the Khadi Gram Udyog and Jharkhand Sanjay Seth.

During the yatra, devotees joined Jagannathpur temple chief priest Rameshwar Padhi and his helpers pull the temple-sized chariots. People from Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Saraikela Kharsawan, West Singhbhum and the neighboring states flocked to Ranchi to pulling the Lord’s chariots,considered pious.
