*Tadasa Mishra, IPS, Jharkhand

When Odisha born IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre took oath as the first woman Director General of Police( DGP) of the state today November 7, Tadasha Mishra knew she has less than two months to lead the cops in Jharkhand.

Mishra was appointed by the state government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on November 6, after her predecessor Anurag Gupta was either sacked by the CM Soren or he reportedly sought ‘voluntary retirement’ which does not appear to be true. He was the most controversial IPS officer holding the post of DGP.

Tadasa Mishra, known as an upright Indian Police Service, who is a 1994-batch IPS officer, took charge as DGP today. She was Special Secretary in the state Home Department. Her tenure, however, will be just for 54 days as she is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2025.
