As the Enforcement Directorate( ED) sleuths landed inside the BCCL’s Outsourcing Company, Dev Prabha Company owner LB Singh’s premises, they confronted dogs.

These dogs were set free to block their entry and prevent them from entering Singh’s premises to carry out a search operation. But the ED sleuths overpowered these domestic dogs of Singh and launched a raid this morning.

The ED raid at Singh’s premises in Dhanbad is one among 18 raids conducted in money laundering cases involving coal mafia in West Bengal and Jharkhand.

During these ongoing raids at premises of coal mafia, tonnes of cash,digital records and files connected with financial transactions were seized. The ED sleuths are learnt to have recovered a substantial quantity of gold jewellery.

Officials have confirmed that of the 25 sites being searched, three locations in West Bengal yielded significant unaccounted cash, though the exact addresses have not been disclosed.

Preliminary counting of the seized cash, reportedly around Rs 1 crore, has been completed, while the valuation of the gold, mostly in the form of ornaments, is still underway, news agency IANS reported.

Authorities said the total value of the recovery will be announced once both cash counting and gold valuation are completed.
