

Ranchi: The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, successfully concluded its three-day annual cultural festival “Yuventas 2025” on Sunday.
Jharkhand Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Cooperative, Govt. of Jharkhand, Smt. Shilpi Neha Tirkey graced the valedictory ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Shri Prashant Pallav, Additional Solicitor General of India (ASGI), attended as the Guest of Honour. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil welcomed the dignitaries in his address.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Students from More than 10 colleges showcased their talent during the three-day festival. During the valedictory ceremony, outstanding performers from various events were awarded. The campus remained filled with music, dance, visual arts, instrumental performances, creative face painting, and impactful poster making, making the event vibrant and memorable.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Smt. Shilpi Neha Tirkey highlighted the richness and diversity of Jharkhand’s cultural heritage. She recalled her student days and expressed how festivals like these play a crucial role in shaping the cultural and social understanding of youth. She also spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals, emphasising their continued relevance in today’s world.
The Minister appreciated NUSRL’s inclusive environment, noting that more than 50% of its students are from Jharkhand, while others come from various states, enabling meaningful cultural exchange. She expressed her delight in joining the event and shared her positive experience meeting legal professionals, including ASGI Shri Prashant Pallav.
Guest of Honour ASGI Shri Prashant Pallav commended the event, stating that such cultural gatherings infuse new energy in students. He praised Minister Tirkey as a young, educated, and inspiring leader committed to societal development.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil highlighted the university’s achievements and contributions to society. He elaborated on several initiatives undertaken by the university, including free legal aid, rural surveys, nutrition projects for children, women empowerment programs, health awareness drives, and support for undertrial prisoners.
A special attraction of the event was the fashion show themed on Jharkhandi culture, designed by Anupama Kachhap. Assistant Registrar Dr Jisu Ketan Pattanaik attended the ceremony. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Julian Seal Pasari, Faculty Convenor of the Culture Club.
