Maoists continued to be a cause of concern for security forces in forest areas of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand where at least two jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force were injured in an IED blast today August 8, 2025.

The incident occurred around noon in the Mankey area near Jaraikela in Saranda forest, one of Asia's thickest forests, when the CRPF personnel were conducting a search operation, an officer said.

Both the jawans belong to the CRPF's CoBRA battalion. Both the injured personnel were airlifted and brought to Ranchi for better treatment in a hospital.

The search operation is still under way in the area of the IED blast, it is learnt.
