As the time nears to the play time for the first One-Day International (ODI) between India and South Africa, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and BJP leader Arjun Munda has alleged black marketing tickets of the match to be held today (November 30 afternoon,2025) at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium Complex, H.E.C. Campus, Dhurwa, Ranchi.
In social media platform X former CM Munda has alleged that though it is a matter of pride that first ODI between India and South Africa is taking place in the capital city of the state, the organisers ( JSCA) have done injustice to spectators who were keen to watch this historic match.
“Tickets were not properly sold either online or offline. The offline ticket counters were closed a day before the scheduled time and the sell of online tickets was shut soon after opening it”, alleged former CM.
Inquiry revealed Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) had announced the ticket distribution and purchase details for the ODI.
As per its announcement, JSCA members, affiliated districts, and institutions collected their complimentary tickets on November 23 (Sunday) from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Conference Room, Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur, and on November 24 (Monday) from 10 AM to 5 PM at the M.S. Dhoni Pavilion (South Gate) of the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.
Each member received a T-shirt and a backpack along with their tickets. The ticket counters were opened outside the stadium and long queues were spotted on November 24. But these counters were closed before all persons standing in these queues could purchase tickets.
This made many cricket fans raise slogans against JSCA office bearers. Former CM Arjun Munda has questioned them and asked “ what procedure was used to sell tickets. The cricket fans are disillusioned. The noise of the ongoing black marketing of these tickets at double and triple price is audible.”
In any case, the 50,000 capacity JSCA stadium is going to be jam packed even as clouds are expected to cover the Sun and dew can is sure to make the ball wet and slippery.
