As the year 2025 ends on Friday( December 31), Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren provides special new year gift - jobs.

As many as 1,910 candidates, who cleared the Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE) 2023 earlier this month, will get their appointment letters today( December 29).

Chief Minister Hemant Soren distributed the appointment letters to the successful candidates at a govt function in Morabadi Ground, Ranchi.

The selected candidates include assistant section officers, junior secretariat assistants, labour officers, five planning assistants, block welfare officers, block supply officers and circle inspectors and kanugos (a revenue official).

The examination was advertised in 2023, but the tests were conducted last year.

Conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), the examination’s results were declared on December 9 this year. However, results were declared after a lot of trials and tribulations. The state govt had initiated a probe into the allegations of question paper leak.

Taking cognizance of the claims, Jharkhand high court (HC) had stayed the publication of the results. However, the HC changed its order earlier this month after it was satisfied with the state govt’s probe, which concluded that there was no leak.

A day before the appointment letter giving function, the road sides were packed with banners and bill boards carrying the pictures of the CM Soren. At selected places, the poster of the ally Congress leader and Finance Minister, Radha Krishna Kishore was also visible.

The Ranchi city traffic police had banned the entry of heavy goods carrying vehicles in the city from 6 am to 10 pm on Tuesday.

The appointment letter giving function organised by the state government was not an isolated event.

Prior to this,on September 16,CM Hemant Soren, marking one year of his government’s second term on Friday, had handed over appointment letters to 8,792 newly selected candidates at a state-level ceremony organised at the same site-Morabadi Ground in the heart of the state capital.
