The Adani Foundation has initiated a move to empower girls and boys residing in its Gondulpara Opencast Coal Mine in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand.

Three girls were selected for training at the Indian Institute of Fire Engineering (IIFE), Nagpur.

They were enrolled in a Diploma course of six month duration of Fire Safety Engineering, Fire & Construction Safety certification. After completion of the course, they will be linked with jobs.

In addition, four boys of the Gondulpara coal mine area were selected for admission at Rashtriya Raksha University, Ahmedabad, where they will be trained for three months free of cost. After their training, they will be empanelled for jobs.

The Gondulpara coal mine area has witnessed protests against land acquisition for mining purposes. But Adani Foundation has been active through initiatives like skill development at its Adani Skill Development Centre in Harli for youth, providing vocational training for employment.

Adani Foundation has also supported health service to people by distributing nutrition kits to TB patients under the Pradhan Mantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana in areas like Barkagaon and are establishing a playschool for BSF children with digital classrooms.

Their efforts focus on education, skill-building, health, and empowering local communities for socio-economic growth.
