A woman called Langdi was allegedly operating a sex racket from a rented flat in Ulidih. The operation was busted after police conducted a raid and arrested four girls on Friday.

During the raid, these girls were found with packs of condoms.However, Langdi woman and two men who were reportedly customers remained at large.

In Ulidih,a village in Namkum block of Ranchi district, Jharkhand, located about 28 km from Ranchi district,lies the Green Field Apartment. Inside its flat B5 F1 D, the cops led by DY.SP Basandev Kujur conducted the raid while showing himself as a ‘customer’ a ‘tip- off’.

Investigation revealed that the operator was Langrdi who has been running the sex racket from this flat for long.

While using her mobile phone, she used to get money, ranging in three- four digits, call the concerned girl at appropriate time, take the customer to the flat and make available branded condoms, according to a senior cop who was investigating the case.

None of the cities such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Dhanbad have a brothel.

However, sex racket has been operational in these cities from closed door flats and selected hotels where girls of 14-35 ages were available from rural belt of the state and West Bengal.

“ Even foreign girls from made available at premier cost. The customers were either businessmen,senior officers or politicians”, claimed a police officer.

The exposure of Ulidih sex racket is not an isolated case.*On July 11, 2025, sex racket was busted from Earth Envlave, Adityapur, Jamshedpur.

*On March 31, 2025, Urmila Apartment in Kadma in Jamshedpur had figured in the raid conducted by the police exposing sex racket.

The four arrested girls were from Ulidih, Mango in Jamshedpur and Azadnagar in East Singhbhum district near Jamshedpur. They were arrested and remanded to judicial custody in Ranchi.

The search operation is reportedly going on to find Langdi and owners of the flat B5 F1 D of the Green Field Complex in Ulidih.
