Two days after the FIR was filed against him on charges of accepting a bribe for land, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested an Army Hawaldar posted in Ranchi, along with a private person, for allegedly accepting a bribe of 50,000 rupees.

The case was registered on January 30, after a complaint was lodged stating that the Hawaldar had demanded five lakh rupees for allowing construction work on land claimed to belong to the Army and had earlier accepted part payments.

The CBI laid a trap, caught both accused red-handed while accepting the bribe, and conducted searches at their premises.
