When asked what this recently-launched PANKHUDI portal is all about and pat comes the reply. It’s a single-window digital platform of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD).
It is designed to enable structured and transparent participation of individuals, NGOs, Corporates and NRIs in women and child development initiatives.
Investigation revealed that PANKHUDI portal provides end-to-end digital workflows for registration, proposal submission and tracking of contributions (only non-cash contributions).
The grassroots institutions functioning under various State and UT governments dealing with the three missions of the Ministry can use it to indicate their requirements.
PANKHUDI supports priority thematic areas such as nutrition, health, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), child protection and women’s empowerment, and aligns contributions with flagship schemes including Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti, promoting convergence among government bodies and partner organisations.
As on 03.02.2026, 38 contributors have registered on the portal, claimed the Ministry. The Ministry has undertaken capacity-building and outreach activities, including training and handholding sessions for State and District functionaries, virtual meetings with senior State government officials and introduction of a module on Pankhudi in all major courses conducted by Savitri Bai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD).
