Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled visit to Jamshedpur in Jharkhand on February 26, officials were busy chalking out security and administrative measures to welcome her and ensure law and order in the city.

President Murmu is slated to participate in the ground-breaking ceremony and lay the foundation stone for the Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust complex at Marine Drive in Kadma.

As per her official schedule, she will also participate in an event specifically at Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) in Baridih, Jamshedpur, during this trip. 

Top state officials, including the Additional Director General (CID) and Secretary of Rural Development, reviewed the site preparations on February 20, 2026. 

Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC) is a prominent institution in Jamshedpur, established via a partnership between Tata Steel and the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).

President Droupadi Murmu has previously conferred awards to MAHE faculty of MTMC at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
