The second edition of Vidhan: The Policy Triathlon, a national-level policy–making competition, was successfully conducted on February 22, 2026, at IIM Ranchi.

Vidhan is an interdisciplinary and collaborative initiative jointly organised by National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi and IIM Ranchi.

The event was entirely conceptualised and executed by student bodies, with the Kautilya Society from NUSRL Ranchi and Polytrics and Paradox from IIM Ranchi playing a central role.

The initiative was originally launched in 2025 as a student-led platform to promote informed and evidence-based public policy discourse.

The competition witnessed participation from students across the country, representing premier institutions including IIMs, NLUs, IITs, and several reputed private universities. Following multiple evaluation stages, 11 teams qualified as national finalists and presented their policy frameworks in the final round.

In the final results, IIM Shillong secured the first prize, receiving a cash award of ₹20,000 along with a Manupatra course subscription. The NUSRL Ranchi team won the second prize, earning ₹15,000 and a Manupatra course, while RGNLU Patiala secured the third prize, receiving ₹10,000 along with a Manupatra course.

The valedictory session featured a special address by Deepak Prakash, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, who also presented certificates to all 11 finalist teams.

The session was further graced by Deepak Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, and Dr. Utkarsh Verma, Assistant Professor, NUSRL Ranchi.

According to the organisers, Vidhan seeks to foster practical policy thinking, interdisciplinary engagement, and democratic dialogue among young scholars. With the successful completion of its second edition, Vidhan has firmly established itself as a significant student-led public policy platform in the country.
