A wild jumbo has created panic among the people in Hawai Nagar locality in Ranchi on Friday morning.

Hawai Nagar, a prime residential sub-locality in Gitilpiri, in Ranchi, located near Birsa Munda Airport (approx. 100-500 meters) and Birsa Chowk on Khunti Road.

It is near Hinoo and Argora, offering easy access to Hatia Railway Station and major city road.

The single elephant was moving around the Hawai Nagar area, and a forest team has been deployed to drive out the animal from the city.

The elephant perhaps deviated from its route and entered the city. Since it is school time for children, we are following all safety measures," Ranchi Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Srikant Verma.
