

As the days of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah promise to free the country from ‘Naxal Mukt Bharat’ by March 31,2026, are numbered,the police in Jharkhand appear to be busy recording a new file.
This file is connected with the latest event showing that
two self-styled commanders of the CPI (Maoist) have been arrested in Latehar district on , Saturday (March 14, 2026).
Inquiry revealed that the police have recovered arms and ammunition, including an AK-47, from their possession.
Reports said, the arrests were made following a ‘tip-off’ that a CPI (Maoist) 'zonal commander' was roaming around with his squad in Netarhat, Mahuadanr, Baresand, Garu and Chhipadohar areas. This was confirmed by Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav.

“Based on this information, a police team was set up and a search operation conducted within Chhipadohar police station limits. During the operation, the duo was arrested, while three others managed to escape,” Mr. Gaurav told reporters in Latehar.
The two, jointly carrying a bounty of ₹12 lakh, were wanted in connection with several cases registered at police stations in districts and states, including Chhattisgarh, he added.
