For the first time, all state government run primary and secondary schools in Ranchi district celebrated the End-of-Session as Cultural Connect Annual Day  2025-26 on Thursday ( March 25,2026).

In all, nearly 2000 schools, having over 2 lakh students, 7000 teachers and staff took part in interaction session. Each school had formulated its own programme involving students, teachers and staff.

In general, the event provided opportunity to innovative and artistic students to showcase their talents in the form of dance, song, drama and so on.

“This motivates them and boosts their confidence”, said Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri while addressing the media on Wednesday,

Mr.Manjunath Bhajantri, who conceived the End-of-Session Annual Function and under whose guidance, the district education department ensured its implementation, is credited to have introduced a number of initiatives to deck up the District Collectorate Compkex.

For instance, lift system of five storey District Collectorate Block A and Block B had not been working for the past three years causing inconvenience to scores of officers and staff who visit the facility for daily works.

After Mr.Bhajantri took charge last year, tenders were finally allotted and now lifts in Block A where he has his chamber, were functional. The lifts of Block B are under the repair process.

Not the least, the park turned ground turned empty land, full of dust and urinating spots, near the Land Record room, were beautified by planting beds of green grass and covering each with flower pots and enveloping it by plastic carpets.

Even new cemented chairs were placed under trees to facilitate visitors to sit there. This has beautified the Collectorate complex in the state capital.

Today’s ‘End-of-Session Annual Function’ is expected to become history in the primary and secondary schools of the state government.

Incidentally, the state government run schools in Ranchi annually celebrate national events like Republic Day, featuring flag hoisting, patriotic songs, and cultural performances by students to foster patriotism.

Celebrations often include marches, prize distributions, and community-focused activities that highlight local culture and national unity. Now, they can celebrate the End-of-Session Annual Function, a programme worth copying by other districts in Jharkhand.
