Amid the Home Minister Amit Shah’s ‘almost’ declaration of Naxal -free India on April 1,West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand continued to witness incident of Naxal violence.

In the latest incident in West Singhbhum forest,a jawan of CRPF's CoBRA battalion was injured when an IED planted by members of CPI (Maoist) there.

Right now, a massive combing operation was going on to flush out the remaining squad of Maoists headed by senior leader Misir Besra, who carries a bounty of ₹1 crore on his head.

Security personnel have been carrying out the operation to make the district naxal-free.

In the process, the IED blast took place resulting in the injury of this jawan of CRPF's CoBRA battalion. “He was injured
a police officer” said a police officer on Monday (April 6, 2026).

The incident occurred when a joint anti-Maoist operation was going on in Saranda forest under the Chotanagra police station limit, Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Renu told PTI.

The jawan suffered minor injury in the incident, the SP said, adding that his condition is stated to be stable.
