Speculations are rife that the Centre is going to appoint the third Advisor to the Governor Syed Ahmad.

The need for the third Advisor reportedly arose mainly due to the overload of works being done by two Advisors Madhukar Gupta and Vijay Kumar. While Gupta was incharge of 25 departments,Kumar was looking after 18 departments.

During the popular elected government, these 43 departments were headed by 12 ministers. In the past, the President’s Rule was imposed in this state twice, each time the Centre had appointed three Advisors.

This time, the Centre relied on Gupta and Kumar. Now,tey were understood to be gasping for breath as each of them were faced with tremendous load of files.”Saheb Log Ka file me sign Karte Karte,Haath,Peeth Aur Sar Me Dard Ho Gaya Hai(Sahebs are down with ache in their hands, bodies and heads, signing the files”,smiles a peon.

In fact, the state has utilised around Rs 5,500 crore out of the total plan budget of Rs 16,300 crore so far.To make use of the rest of the fund in less that two months was a huge challenge for them, raising buzz in the corridors of power that the third Advisor was the need of the hour.

Although the Centre’s preference was not known, the buzz is that Mukhtiyar Singh,ex IAS officer, can be appointed as the third Advisor.
