To mark the World Environment Day, a dozen saplings were planted today inside the Ranchi based Indian Medical Association’s office complex.

At the launching of the water conservation campaign by Vikas Bharti,a non government organization, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Dr A K Malhotra in Ranchi said that his department had constructed 25 check dams in 11 forest areas as part of conservation of water in Jharkhand.

“Twenty years ago,Jharkhand was green and there was hardly any water problem.Today the climate change has affected the forest land and to deal with the situation, check dams would be built in all the forest areas”,added Malhotra.
