A 13-year- old girl committed suicide by setting herself afire after she was allegedly abducted and ‘teased’ by two boys.The incident took place in Keduwadih in Dhanbad district on January 30 evening.Baby Kumari,a Class VIII student,had gone to DAV school in the morning.On the way,two boys -Bhuneshwar Baldar and Ramesh Kumar Chouhan-who belonged to the same locality-allegedly intercepted her and took her to a remote area forcibly.Both allegedly ‘teased”her.

When Kumari returned home,she sprinkled kerocene oil on her body and set her self afire.”When we saw her in fire we tried to save her.We took her to the hospital.At the local clinic,doctors referred her to the hospital in Dhanbad.But she could not recover and succumbed to burn injuries”,said Ashok Kumar,a relative of Kumari,quoting the FIR.
