The issue of woman’s role,empowerment and contribution to society figured in a seminar held inside the premise of Sri Krishna Institute o Public Administration in Ranchi today.

The seminar was the brain child of SKIPA’s Director General Sudhir Prasad.

“The tradition and culture in our society were connected with women and their empowerment.No wonder why today they were marching ahead in all walks of life”,opined Prasad,a Jharkhand cadre IAS officer who is from IIT,Kanpur.

The seminar was attended by women leaders who had gathered from different parts of Jharkhand.Addressing them,Inspector General,CID,Sampat Meena said that the empowerment of woman begins at home.

“if the girls were educated and empowered at home,they can confront exploitation and gain empowerment”,she said.

The seminar was addressed among others by the State Commission for Women Chairman Mahua Manjhi and Sidhu-Kanu Murmu University Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Shukla Mohanty.

In the second phase of the seminar organised to mark the International Women’s day 2016,the Mukhiya of Jaria Punchayat Urmila Devi and Hazaribagh’s former Mukhiya Priyanka Devi addressed the seminar by quoting their own case studies.
