A buzz is that Rajiv Kumar is going to succeed GS Rath as Director General of Police.Kumar is 1981 batch IPS officer.If the state government under the President’s Rule gives nod,he can succeed Rath who retires on February 28.

However,two other contenders to the top post are :Rajiv Jain,IPS officer of 1980 batch and Arvind Verma.While Jain is under deputation in the Intelligence Bureau,Verma was reportedly on long leave.
