Jharkhand Bhasa Sahitya Sanskriti Akhra today organised a seminar on ‘Status of Jharkhand Language-Literature’ inside Suchna Bhawan auditorium in Ranchi.

The seminar was presided by senior lietature of Mundari,Jowakim Toppo.While speaking on the occasion Toppo opined that though the tribal languages were recognaised as second state languages,there was no provision to publish their writers’ texts and books.

“Yet,the tribal writers were successful in publishing their books.During the past one year,more than 250 books were published by them”,he said adding that the state government should ensure that the schools,colleges and universities must purchase these books.

Similarly,Bokaro based Editor of ‘Luwathi’ magazine Girdhari Goswami “Akaskhunti’ said that in 2012,an institution was set up to promote Khorta language-lietrature.”Unfortunately,the office building of this institution was being used for other government purposes”,he said.

A number of activists,literature and writers were present in the seminar.Many of them spoke and sought the state government’s support to promote tribal language and lietrature,said a press release issued by K.M.Singh Munda,spokesperson of Jharkhand Bhasha Sahitya Sanskriti Akhra.
