Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba today reviewed implementation of the government schemes with Deputy Commissioners through video conference and directed them to gather land for setting up Women and “Model Colleges’.

During the review meeting,Gauba directed the DCs to identify,if not all ready identified,land in their respective districts for setting up Women and Model colleges by January 15.

Gauba said that in view of the coming summer, a decision was taken to repair tube wells and the Disaster Management Department will be provided Rs 50 crore for the same scheme.

The Chief Secretary directed the DCs to get the construction of toilets being built under the ‘Swaksh Bharat Abhiyan’ completed by March 31,2016.He said that the Government of India is running the Abhiyan to prevent people not to use open field for sanitary purpose and this practice has to be ended by March 31.

Under the MNREGA schemes,256 Panchayat villages have to be freed from the people using open field for toilet purpose.”The process of implementation of this objective is not progressing as per the plan”,said the CS adding that the Municipal Corporation should identify land for setting up Solid Waste Management system
