Two young Indian women journalists have won the 2016 EurekAlert Fellowships for International Science Reporters.

While Swagata Yadavar, Health Correspondent of The Week, bagged the fellowship for her incisive coverage of health issues, Dinsa Sachan, a New Delhi-based freelancer, was selected for her writings on science and society.

They were chosen by an independent panel of judges from among 20 applicants, the largest numbers since the Fellowship program began in 2004.
