The Unique Identification Authority of India’s Director General Ram Sevak Sharma is learnt to be coming to Jharkhand as Chief Secretary.
Sharma,a Jharkhand cadre IAS,who is credited to have built a solid infrastructure for the IT Department in the state before joining the UIDAI as its Director General, had more than three years of service left.
This was considered another plus factor for him to lead the state’s bureaucracy. Since his administrative capability as well as his knowledge and expertise in IT were well acknowledged, the Centre has agreed to relieve him from the UIDAI and post him as CS in Jharkhand under the President’s Rule.
Earlier, even tech saavy CM Arjun Munda had sought to appoint Sharma as CS.Now,after the CS SK Choudhary’s extended term ends on March 31,Sharma is likely to join on April 1.
