Tobacco farmers today protested at the residence of Union Health Minister J P Nadda, demanding withdrawal of proposed graphical warning notification on cigarette pack, which requires pictorial warning to be increased from 40 per cent to 85 per cent both sides of the pack.

Raising slogans and flashing placards, the agitating farmers accused central government of playing into hands of ‘anti-tobacco’ lobby and alleged that some foreign players, with vested interest, were trying to convert India from a tobacco exporter to a net tobacco importer, as it is second largest tobacco consuming country.
