Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today reviewed the works of the Mines Departments.

“Introduce GPS system in the transport of minerals,dispose of pending cases connected with mines and minerals so that the revenue of the government increases”,said Das.

Das directed the concerned officers of the Mines Department to adopt a new policy of mines in Jharkhand.

“The revenue and forest departments play a significant role in connection with production of minerals and as such there should be coordination between these departments.Wherevever there is any need to introduce any change in rules and regulations,make efforts to amend them”,said the CM.

The CM told the officers to quickly auction the ready gold mine,two lime stone mines and 119 sand blocks in the State.

During the meeting,Principal Secretary(Mines) Santosh Kumar Satapathy informed that as a result of action initiated against illegal mining,477 mines and 1368 stone crushers/stores were shut down.

Satapathy said,to transport the minerals,e-chalaan was introduced which is functioning effectively.He pointed out that under the Mines and Minerals Amendment Act 2015,the lease of 7 iron ore mines,3 copper and limestone mines each and 1 lease of other mineral was extended upto March 31,2020.

In addition,the lease of 3 iron ore mines and one magenize mine was updated.Also,within a period of just three months,659 reconsideration cases of miner minerals was disposed of.”The disposal of 67 other such cases will be made soon”,said Satapathy adding that the Department was in receipt of tender applications for the gold,copper and lime stone mines.
