Jharkhand government and Birla Institute of Technology,Mesra(Ranchi) has inked a MoU.  

The MoU was signed by the state government's High Technical Education and Skill Development Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh and BIT,Mesra Vice Chancellor Dr MK Mishra.The move was in accordance with the recomendation of the Development Commissioner Amit Khare.

The aim was to promote skill development.As per official records,the state government funds BIT,Mesra and as such its 50 percent seats were reserved for the state government.Also,a team can be set up to study the the working system of the high graded technical institutions of the country 

The event was historic and it was attended among others by Chief Minister Raghubar Das,Minister Ramchandra Chandrawansi,the CM's Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar,Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, BIT,Mesra Registrar Dr AP Krishna,its Administrative Officer Dr Rajesh Sinha.  

Speaking on the occasion,Das said that BIT,Mesra has to be developed as 'centre of excellence.'
