At a time when the BJP government led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das has been busy organising the establishment day function slated to be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on November 15,a clutch of  Opposition parties is leaving no stone unturned to mobilise public opinion against it.

Apart from joining hands and deciding to hold 'Maha Dharna' outside the Raj Bhawan in Ranchi on November 13,two days before the President lands in Ranchi to come to inaugurate Jharkhand's foundation day function at Morahabadi Maidan and the Raj Bhawan, they have set up a coordination committee to carry out agitation against what their leaders say 'anti -people' policies.

At this Maha Dharna, prominent leaders of opposition parties are slated to sit under the make- shift pandal, put up banners and yell against the BJP government. All of them blame the Das government on issues such as corruption, power cuts, pot holed roads, absence of qualified school teachers and inking MoUs with private companies for setting up industries, and thereby making attempt to displace the people, especially tribals.

"We will also protest against misgovernance and misuse of crores and crores of rupees by holding mega meetings, conferences, printing bill boards and publishing advertisements in newspapers, magazines and TV channels. The sad thing is this government lacks sensitivity to address the grievances of the poor people and develop infrastructure, especially roads, hospitals, schools and power plants",said Congress leader and ex Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay who has played a lead role in uniting the divided opposition parties under the umbrella of this coordination committee.. .

This committee comprising the Congress,Jharkhand Vikas Morcha led by ex CM Babulal Marandi,CPI and half a dozen NGOs was formed after leaders of these parties and groups held a meeting in Ranchi on October 23 and unanimously resolved to launch agitation against the ruling BJP.

Notably,Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which has 18 MLAs in 81-Member Assembly has not joined the committee till date.
