After three kidnapped cops returned to police station safe today, the police is planning to launch a strike against Pathalgadi agitatinoists in Khunti it is learnt.

However, return of these cops was a major embarrassment for the state police as its top officials were completely in dark about the movement of the Pathalgadi agitationists.

In any case, under the pressure of the search operation launched by the police,a group of non-Christian tribals are learned to have turned hostile to Pathalgadi agitationists led by a group of Christian tribals."This compelled the abductors to free the abducted cops",said a tribal who reside in Khunti.

RK Mallick,Additional Director General of Police(Operation) said that last night the abducted policemen were allowed to go and they have safely returned."None of them were hurt",said Mallick adding that these abducted policemen have told the police station officers that kidnappers took them from one place to another.

The AK 47 and INSAS rifles that kidnappers took with them were not recovered. The three freed cops-Subodh Kujur,Vinod Kerketta and Suyon Surin-were tribals. The IG(Operation) Ashish Batra informed that at 4 am in the morning, information was gathered that these three kidnapped cops were detained in a house located at Putigarha in Khunti.

"Soon, the security forces led by IG,DIG,SP reached Putigarha and got them freed after Pathalgadi agitationists fled",said a senior police officer. These three cops were kidnapped on Tuesday, hours after the police raided villages in Khunti area to nab the accused who had raped five women activists last week. The agitationists had tried to prevent the police contingent from entering the village earlier.

Three cops were deployed at senior BJP leader and ex-Deputy Speaker Kadia Munda's home on Tuesday. The police suspect the involvement of supporters of Pathalgadi,an anti-establishment,self -rule movement in parts of the state's tribal belt by Christian tribals.
