"Migration and Movement".This was the theme adopted by a section of Adivasi(tribal) groups to mark the annual event- International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
To celebrate the annual event across the state, top tribal leaders such as three former Chief Ministers- Arjun Munda, Hemant Soren and Babulal Marandi-have put up billboards and advertisement in local dailies.
At Khunti, Adivasi Sabha members staged dance and music show. Their counterparts in Ranchi and Simdega held workshops.
"We are using the occasion to height light the common problem faced by the tribals. The problem is 'Migration and Movement'.To overcome it is their agitations in different forms-rallies, dharna and so on", says Soren.
