56 Internationally renowned artists from 24 countries and 25 Indian states will participate in the world’s largest watercolour festival – the International Water Colour Festival (IWCF) 2018, held under the aegis of Department of Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand. 

The five-day international festival will be held at Audrey House, Ranchi from 23rd – 27th  August 2018, from 10:00 am onwards. 

Raghubar Das, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand will be the Chief Guest for the event. 

While announcing the Festival, Manish Ranjan, IAS, Secretary, Tourism, Art-Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand said “The state of Jharkhand is known for its rich culture, especially Tribal Art & Craft. We conceptualized this Festival to not just showcase the art & culture of Jharkhand but also to present the state as an emerging Global art & culture destination. The entire festival has been designed to also give local artists and Students a taste of International art”. 

Apart from various cultural programmes by traditional dance troupes of Jharkhand, the visiting artists will also interact with budding school students and artists. They will also communicate through their paintings on themes including “Nature” and “Modern/ Abstract”. A special programme has also been created for showcasing how the beautiful, peaceful and scenic locales of Jharkhand are ideal for visiting artists. 

International artists who have confirmed their participation include Anna Massinissa (Fabriano), Atul Panase (Dubai), Andres Achavar (Chile), Foti Kllogjeri (Albenia), Ali Abbas & Fatima Ali (Pakistan), Lea Nixon (England), Zhou Tianya, Mong & Mong Sho (China), Massimiliano Locco (Roma), Darius Rafaello (Taiwan), Elena Dzyuba (Russia), Pawel Gladkow (Poland), Sergiylysyy (Lithuania), Roberto Andreoli & Uttam Kr. Karmaker (Italy), Selma Todorova &, Krasi Todorov (Bulgaria), Kauser Hossain Masud, Mintu Dey & Shoag Parvej (Bangladesh),  Victoria Grigorieva (Ukraine), Mahsa Isapour (Iran), N.B. Gurung & Anita Bhattrai (Nepal). 
 
The Indian art diaspora will be represented by Milind Mulick, Sailesh Meshram & Sanjay Desai (Pune), Nirupam Konwar, Kavita Vardhan & Pratima Kumar (Bangalore), Ramesh Jhawar (Chennai), Praween Karmaker (Ranchi), Bijay Biswal (Nagpur), Subodh Kumar (Jamshedpur), Braj Mohan Arya (Jabalpur), Aniket Mahale (Nasik), Anil Kumar (Banaras), Avik Bindu& Rajat s Bandopadhyay (Delhi), Sadhu Alyur (Kerala), Kaushik Ghosh, Amlesh Majumdar & Hitesh Das (West Bengal),  Prashant Khatua & Topon Roy (Kolkata)

Visitors will also be witnessing the Jugal Bandi of Three artists creating a single painting together. Other attractions include international artists painting their canvas at some of the key tourism destinations of Ranchi. 

A 2-day cultural extravaganza is also being planned to showcase the rich culture & diversity of Jharkhand.
