Morahabadi Maidan was flooded by kite players. The sky with the Sun blazing and wind blowing on the pious Makar Sankranti was packed with kites.
Notably, most players were ruling BJP supporters. And the kites were made specially to show pictures of the PM Narendra Modi and Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
They were flying kites on the occasion of the grand kite festival. First, it was organised every year at Gujarat to mark the pious ‘Makarsankranti’.Now, the Namo Kite Festival was held at Morhabadi Ground on Tuesday.
Even in Ranchi the annual event was organised under the aegis of ‘Namo Mantra’ – the nodal organisation.
The event that had received a tremendous response of the public has been organised since 2013 and feature the kite bearing pictures of PM Modi as a special attraction.
“This is the seventh edition of ‘Namo Patang Utsav’. Since 2015, the event is being organised here at Morhabadi Ground. Every year, the response of the city residents has been encouraging.
"The prime factor responsible for the event is to promote Indian culture among the young generation,” says Chief of the organising committee and Jharkhand State Khadi Board, Chairperson – Sanjay Seth, who is considered brain behind the move.
Notably, the event began in the afternoon. It showed a picture of the PM Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Raghubar Das. In all, the event was marked by dozens of kites bearing the PM’s photographs and some quotes. Most kites carried the pictures of the PM Modi and the CM Das.
