Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is set to launch the use of convalescent plasma therapy to treat COVID-19 patient at RIMS hospital in Ranchi on July 28.

“The CM Hemant Sorenji is going to kick start it”,said a senior officer close to the CM.

AIIMS in New Delhi had started using convalescent plasma therapy on April 23,2020.At various centres,doctors of AIIMS had started using convalescent plasma that is the blood of COVID-19 patients who had recovered.A large number of patients who have become alright,had come forward and had volunteered to donate their blood.

Since it was benefiting many patients in the national capital, the state health department in league with RIMS hospital management deemed it fit to follow Delhi model and start using convalescent plasma therapy at RIMS centre to begin with.

Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta today tweeted that after receiving permission from Indian Council of Medical Research, many states had started using Plasma therapy, and were successful.”We are also going to do it”,he tweeted on Friday adding:”It will help treat COVID-19 patients.”
