The State Government run Sadar Hospital in Ranchi has gained a separate facility for health care of elderly persons.

Billed as Geriatric Ward, it is meant for 10 persons and as such it is officially called 10 beaded Geriatric Ward.

Geriatric Ward of this Government Hospital is first of its kind.It is specifically designated for elderly patients.It aims to provide acute care spaces for them and seeks provide multidisciplinary team approaches to improve the management of older patient by providing specialised aged care early to improve patient outcomes.
