Jharkhand High Court(JHC) has ordered issuance of contempt of court rule against the state School Education Secretary for not complying with its order to reinstate a primary school teacher after his termination.

The case involves Ravi Oraon. He was appointed as a primary school teacher in Dhanbad.Subsequently, on a complaint that he had a fake degree of graduation, his appointment was declared 'illegal'".His appointment was terminated.

After he lost the job, he filed a case in the JHC challenging the termination order of his appointment which was cleared by the state School Education Secretary.

In 2018, the JHC passed a judgment providing relief to Oraon and directing the state School Education Secretary to reinstate him as a primary school teacher. This JHC order was not honoured and the state School Education Secretary challenged the JHC's order in its division bench.

However, though the division bench did not stay the JHC's order, the state School Education Secretary preferred not to reinstate Oraon as a primary school teacher. In response, Oraon filed a contempt of court case.

Responding to Oraon's plea, the JHC ordered a contempt of court case against the state School Education Secretary.
