When he had handed over watermelon grown in his official residence’s kitchen garden to inmates of Ranchi-based old age home Cheshire on May 16, he was praised by people in public.

Now, when a video of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is viewed and heard him saying, “ We are making arrangements to ensure that anyone who dies from coronavirus, their families wouldn't have to buy 'kafan' (shroud). We are providing it free of cost," he is being ridiculed in social media.

“ It’s shocking and shameful that the CM is promising to provide shroud free of cost to Covid victims ”, said a school teacher who does not want to be named, echoing the sentiments of many citizens in Ranchi.

Incidentally, this video( enclosed with this story) is doing the rounds on social media platforms. Apparently, his is a highly insensitive comment about the people who are dying from COVID-19.
