In a major declaration made today on completion of the second year of his government, Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced to provide a subsidy of Rs 25 per litre to motorcycles and scooter riders.

The subsidy is planned to be rolled out to benefit two-wheeler riders with effect from January 26, 2022.

Incidentally, the Soren government is the first government in India to have planned to provide subsidized petrol to two-wheeler riders. However, how the state government implements it remains to be watched.
