After the state government found that very few inter caste marriages were solemnized in recent times ,the Himachal Pradesh government headed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh took another step to encourage the youths.

The incentive given to any couple whose spouse belongs to Scheduled caste has been raised from Rs 25,000 to Rs 75,000.

‘’Now,we hope with a higher sum offered by the state government, more youths may benefit from it’’, said Sushil Kumar,a spokesperson of the Himachal government.
