Aware that adventure cycle rally is going to be organised next month in May from Gunji to Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh, cycle lovers in Jharkhand are exploring ways to take part in it.

“We will visit Gunji. Or we will first check if we can participate in this rally”, said Sankar Ghosh who had won a silver medal in cycle rally organised in Jamshedpur last year.

Ghosh is not alone. A dozen cycle lovers were heard sharing their plan to join this adventure cycle rally.

Incidentally, the aim of this adventure cycle rally is to 
vitalise villages close to the India-China border via adventure tourism activities.

It is being in mid May from Gunji to Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh.PTI reports quoting Pithoragarh District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan as saying,"The rally will be open to all adventure cyclists.” 

In any case, this adventure cycle rally along Indo- China border is being organised for the first time in a border village.

Participants of the rally will have to cover a distance of 36 kilometres from Gunji village to Adi Kailash and return.

As per PTI report which quotes Chauhan :“An event like this is being organised as Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt is taking a keen interest in vitalising border villages through such adventure activities”.

“Further, a 10-day national level trekking expedition from Khaliya Top to Rurkhan has been flagged off in Munsiyari. Over 300 trekkers from 17 states are taking part in the event.”
