Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his brother Basant Soren are facing charges of running shell companies.

In response to a PIL, Jharkhand High Court today ordered Enforcement Directorate and Registrar of Companies to enquire into different companies’ files in which the Hemant Soren and Basant Soren have invested.

The court has also directed ED and Registrar of Companies to investigate and submit report within two weeks.

The court has asked for the information of all the companies that have been listed in the petition. The matter was heard by a bench consisting of Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad of the High Court.

The court will hear this PIL again after two weeks. Sharma had filed a PIL in the Jharkhand High Court demanding CBI and ED to investigate shell companies which are being run in other states including Jharkhand, Bihar and Bengal. He has claimed that Hemant Soren has invested alongwith his brother Basant Soren in these companies.
