Responding to the FIR filed on the basis of a viral video showing him spitting on the bread he was preparing at a wedding function, cops have arrested a man in Meerut today.

This is the first case of its type in the country after a video showed him spitting on the bread he was preparing at a wedding function went viral on social media, police told media persons in Meerut today.

The man was identified as Firoz. His video had gone viral on social media on Monday. The video shows him spitting on the bread while making it at a marriage function at one of Naresh's family in Atrada village of Kharkhauda area.

"The accused was arrested on Tuesday after an FIR in this regard was lodged by Naresh on seeing his actions in the video," PTI quotes SHO, Kharkhauda, Jitendra Kumar Dubey said.

Local BJP leaders in Meerut have demanded invoking National Security Act (NSA) against the accused.
