Jharkhand Public Service Commission Chairman Amitabh Choudhary will demit office on Tuesday(July 5).

Mr. Choudhary, who took charge of this prestigious office after he was appointed by the Hemant Soren government, is the eighth Chairman of the JPSC setup after Jharkhand was created as 28th state of India in the millennium year 2000, on October 28, 2020.

As JPSC Chairman, Mr. Choudhary is credited to have completed the entire procedure of holding and publishing results of the 10th JPSC Joint Civil Service Exams in just 251 days, a record in the history of the Bihar Public Service Commission - JPSC.

In all,252 candidates were appointed without any single complaint, another record of sorts in JPSC where not one result was declared without legal proceedings since its establishment. 

Notably, the appointment letters to these successful 252 candidates who would be civil servants in the state will be delivered by the CM Hemant Soren on July 8, just three days before Mr. Choudhary demits office.

Mr. Choudhary, who had quit the Indian Police Service after attaining exemplary records of crime control in Naxal-hit Palamau and crime-prone Ranchi, is credited to have built and institutionalized Jharkhand State Cricket Association and built its International Cricket Stadium.
