Section 144 has been enforced in the Mahuwatanr police station area in Bokaro after one youth was lynched by a mob on charges of an illegal affair with a woman of another community.

The 35-year-old youth Imran Ansari was beaten and thrashed. The police admitted him to a local hospital on Thursday from where he was shifted to RIMS, Ranchi where he was declared dead on Friday.

The incident took place in Dhawaya village under Mahuwatanr police station in Bokaro. The FIR was filed on a complaint filed by the victim’s son and brother of Imran. The police have taken 11 persons under custody.

Bermo SDO Satish Chandra has confirmed that Imran’s death was a type of mob lynching.” The lynching seems to have taken place due to the victim’s illegal affair with a woman of another community. When villagers came to learn this, Imran was caught by the mob involved in the immersion of the Goddess Durga’s idol. They beat and thrashed him”, said Jha.
 
Late Imran Ansari was a married man with a wife, son, and brother who were dependent on him.
