Four days after he surrendered only to be sent to jail again on May 10, former CM Madhu Koda heaved a sigh of relief today when Justice H C Mishra, Jharkhand High Court granted him temporary bail for a week in a corruption case. Armed with the court’s order Koda can walk out of the jail.
Koda in his review petition had submitted that he requires to be present at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi where his ailing mother has been shifted from Apollo, Ranchi for treatment.
Earlier, the court had granted him conditional bail on the same ground for three weeks on April 16. At the end of the term Koda had surrendered before the court and he was remanded in judicial custody.
However, the court put a ban on his visit abroad and directed him to submit his passport.
