By giving his approval to Jharkhand University Amendment(JUA) Act 2022, Governor Ramesh Bais has cleared the process to appoint teachers in Jharkhand.

Already JUA Act 2022 was published in the form of a Gazette by the state Law Department. The Jharkhand Assembly had passed the Bill and sent it to Governor Bais for his approval. This means that the process of appointment of teachers can start without any delay.

As per the JUA Act 2022, the appointment of teachers will be made by Jharkhand Public Service Commission. The eligibility criteria for the candidate will have to submit that he/ she had cleared the Joint Employment Test(JET) conducted by the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs, National Eligibility Test( NET), Ph.D and Junior Research Fellowship. The merit list, according to the JUA Act 2022, will be valid for one year and the JPSC will recommend the appointment of teachers on the basis of an available number of vacancies.

JharkhandStateNews has learnt that not only appointment of teachers, but JPSC is also working to clear the pending list of promotions in different departments. Four officers of Class III can be promoted to Class II in the state Agriculture Department.

The state personnel department has forwarded the file seeking ‘review’ of the UGC Regulation-2010 for the promotion of teachers. The JPSC is expected to review it and clear the file so that it goes to the state Cabinet for approval for regularisation of promotion.
