Come November 19, three schools of Jharkhand will get the third rank in all India Swachh Vidyalaya Puruskar 2021-22.

These schools are among 26 schools that were selected by the Hemant Soren government and forwarded with a request to award them.

Among these three schools are Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Nawamundi, Ranchi; Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Sonahatu, Ranchi; and Tata Workers’ Union High School, Kadma, Jamshedpur.

The Swachh Vidyalaya Puriskar(SVP)has been instituted by the Union Ministry of Education to recognize, inspire and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practices in schools.

The purpose of the SVP is meant to honor schools that have undertaken significant steps toward fulfilling the mandate of the Swachh Vidyalaya campaign.

Notably, SVP is based on IT-enabled assessment of Wash infrastructure, hygiene practices, and COVID-19-appropriate behaviour.

The award in the form of a certificate will be given by Union Education Minister on November 19 to the Principal/ warden and members of the students wing of the school with a cash sum of Rs 60 thousand.
